DARBES, you only need to listen to AMD´s Q4 CC to notice that not
even AMD found it apt to put a positive spin on that.
For the last few quarters, at least the argument could be made that while unit share remained about stagnant around the 16% level depending on whose results you´re looking at, there was at least clear revenue share growth, ASP growth and strong Opteron growth.
The reality in Q4 was that they missed their guidance, lost revenue market share to INTEL, ASPs declined, Opteron growth slowed dramatically to close to that of the general server market (so the mss share target was missed also)
and...well, "unsatisfied" and "dissapointing" are AMD´s words wrt. CPG performance in Q4. You don´t really need mine. Don´t ask me for bad spin. I prefer to stick to the facts, and fully agree with AMD´s assessment.
