krays: The EPO patent-pending only covers indirect codes. It also only covers a transaction between two or more clearinghouses. If the resolution doesn't require a clearinghouse, it would not apply. So it allows Chip Hoffman, the inventor, to process NeoMedia codes without using Neustar as the Mobile Tag clearinghouse.
