The question you need to ask to figure this out... is what happens when a MM's order is filled at his current lot size? Is it defaulted to a high value? Is it defaulted to a low value? Is it always +.01 the current price? etc etc.
We need to know how their system operates in order to answer this.
But, just for the sake of making a fun little theory, we will say that once a MM's lot has been filled (ie 2500 on the ask currently), that they disapear from the L2 if their is no decision on where to go. If we ate up all that they were offering and they disapeared, we would eventually have the ask set at 55$, until MAXM's offering was gone too...
But if this was true, and we made it to maxm, he would not have a very big lot to sell us.
