I hear you on the vanity keywords, not my cup of tea. But I think it would be a "hit" with the young crowd. Teens especially. How cool would they be to their friends to have such a thing. Just like any other fad, it will fade but in the mean time it provided a few extra bucks of income while the IMPORTANT keyword list is growing...
I myself see the vanity keyword would really only work for very small businesses that cant afford 150$/mo for example - "tony's bike shop " or BOBS flowers etc. you might be able to get 30$/mo.
moneyracer...it has nothing to do with what you are saying. It's no different than a vanity car license plate. What, do you need to have a plate that says "numero uno" ? What's the point? There is no point because it's "vain" and it's all about making a statement of sorts. Trust me, people will jump all over it just like they did vanity license plates which make millions and millions for the states.
