That's cute - spread the Gospel in every post. I don't really think that's happening here, and I can't see much point in starting yet another board where 'everyone goes in there and talks about that'. I mean, I see your point of course - you'd like to talk about what you're interested in, which you call the 'issues at hand', and dispense with all those nasty little references to God. Problem with that is, God is the point, or you wouldn't have awakened today, fired up your PC, made coffee, and wanted to concentrate on the 'real issues'. And dare I remind, that the organizing minds who instituted the nation (if you're American) that grants you your lifestyle were really quite aware that they owed everything good they enjoyed, to what they often called the 'hand of Providence' - which you might say has led you to this board, where they talk about issues that are important to you.

The Gospel is an offer of something - and it's something quite a bit more interesting than two dimensional (but vague)notions of 'right' and 'wrong', Good and Evil, or even 'right living' and 'sin' (which most people truly hate the mention of). These things might be what you are worried about when you want to dispense with any sort of gospel reference, I don't know. If you don't want it, that's up to you; if you don't understand it, and you probably don't, then ok. If you understood it you probably wouldn't mind hearing about it. But to pretend you understand it, it's not interesting, and you've made your carefully thought out choice, while also pretending God isn't relevant here or anywhere, is just silly. Saying 'go do that somewhere else' even while saying 'please' ignores the benefits - and some of them are benefits to you personally - of real religion.

It's funny though, too, that three people mention God in a way that isn't - these days - culturally the norm, like, OMG, etc, etc; and people start getting headaches, can't concentrate, and get all jittery and weird. Why so easily perplexed? What's the diff if it's not real, or relevant? Get used to it - it is relevant. For heaven's sake - I've never heard God's name so well used (and I do mean abused) as I have on almost every single episode of Monk. Which I otherwise like very much - I mean, it's funny, it's interesting, and it's clever. But the constant OMG from like several characters in every show doesn't add anything really - though it does make the mention of God kind of relevant here, right?

Best
