I wonder if Storm would consider just adding their time spent on the state case on to the federal case plus some incentive value to do so. I think you are right, if the state case is lost and that is not good for the federal case, then they are shooting themselves in the foot. Unless they are sure there is not connection between the two that gives them pause or concern.

That's what I said a few weeks or month ago. The state case is on a faster track than the fed case and has to be dealt with. Only two more days until the court appearance.
