Elder - to the best of my knowledge, regardless of the specifics (which the company clearly needs to clarify), the next step is a trial/test (call if what you wish) of the hardware (which includes the software; line code). My understanding is the results of the next test will provide data that NVI intends to publish openly. NVI has gone on record to say that the prototype will be done before year end. I understand that the data will be published shortly after the FPGA field trials are completed.
I am sure I am not the only one who has emailed NVI and suggested they clarify all of this in writing on their website (FAQ section).
