"...had a long talk today with XXX. His son just finished treatment with Dr. D’Amato and his machine that CTT is involved with. They spent two weeks in Rhode Island with the progressive treatment program the Dr. recommended.
His pain level was around 9 and he was on heavy doses of morphine and other synthetic narcotics. XXX said that the treatment began working on the first day, with the pain relief lasting 4-5 hours.
Each day the relief lasted longer and by the time of the final treatment last week he had been at a 0 pain level for 5 days. He is back home in YYY with no pain and is undergoing a managed program for the withdrawal symptoms suffered as a result of the discontinuing the pain medications. They are all thrilled with the results so far.
The Dr. said he has no way of knowing the permanence of the effects but that patients treated in similar circumstances are now 9 months out with no recurrence. They couldn’t be more pleased with where they are today and just knowing that there is an alternative in the event the pain should begin to return is very reassuring. It must be comforting to both the parents and the son to know that at ## years old there is hope for a normal life.
