(Somewhat offtopic) Yep. Natural gas proponents like Pickens are pushing for nat gas vehicles as a stopgap measure until electric vehicles are viable (national electric grid included). It's related to nanotech because the battery industry will be heavily reliant on storage density increases to realize product for practical electric vehicles.

The problem is that many see nat gas as a panacea which it isn't, albeit better than foreign oil-based wars depending on your perspective. So the environmental effects will be a major concern if nat gas gains a strong foothold in the meantime.

Perhaps that's the silver lining of the BP mess. It's exposing the Bush era corruption wrt energy policy and some of the more egregious examples may actually be rectified.

PE,
Funny you should post that article link. I stopped in on Tuesday to Advanced GeoServices. I heard they had won a contract for filter research using nanoparticles to clean the water from the Marsallus Shale Gas projects. Mr. DeMarco was not persuing research using tetrapod Quantum Dots so I told him I would send him some info about the company. Wrote to Dr. Wong because he is doing research on water purification. Who knows where it will lead.
