I just tried to repro this with my new phone, but I'm not seeing it happen.

Maybe it has to do partly with the person's location? Maybe they're on the edge of the solid range of their nearby cell tower? Just guessing.

I tried holding it exactly as shown and putting in the same websites but just didn't notice a difference.

I tried over the top smothering of the phone with both hands, as much as I could cover the phone, and still didn't see a slowdown.
