The PR said "average weight loss", why do you think these are medians?
The write-up you posted about Bydureon is not a press release, but rather a newswire from Reuters. I don’t know whether the weight-loss numbers in question are averages or medians—that’s why I asked.
As you know, the lay press often misuses the word average in place of median. For instance, a recent article in The Economist did this with the Ipilimumab survival data in second-line melanoma, as was mentioned in a thread on SI.
