#321146 RE: eliaman #321094

eliaman, so far it looks like the spongeable products have been around for a while and are providing the owner of the company with a nice little living. I doubt he's making a killing, but he's probably doing okay. He has his products in an awful lot of stores. They claim their sponges last up to 30 washes.

From their website:

"4-in-1 combination of cleanser, exfoliation, massage and moisture. A patent-pending infusion process allows Spongeables® to provide a guaranteed number of uses. High quality shower gel, rich shea butter to soften skin, olive oil to hydrate, and vitamins A and E for strength and anti-oxidant protection provide a day’s worth of skin care for the entire body".

Their ingredients seem to be a lot better quality then SPNG's. To me it looks like the spongeables are a better quality then SPNG's sponges. Plus, the stores that he's in, he's been in for quite a while, which tells me the exceptance of his sponges are pretty good, i.e., if they didn't sell, they wouldn't still be in all the stores. Plus the technology they're using seems to be a lot better then SPNG's. They claim 30 washes per sponge. However, even if that's an overstatement, you have figure it's probably at least 20 or so, which beats the heck out of SPNG's sponges.

However, I think what most (but not all) people have forgotten is Taikone/Dicon. They have an incredible array of sponges they are already selling worldwide. They have merchandizing agreements with the same companies SPNG has. If you read their website, they are going to start introducing all of their sponges in the US. Because their sponges are made in China, that means a bigger profit margin for their partners. I would be more worried about Taikone/Dicon, then spongeables.

Plus, neither spongeables or Taikone/Dicon are carrying the baggage right now that SPNG is. With the image that SPNG has, I don't know how they expect to make a go of it.
