I'm not usually one to offer stock tips. Give a man a fish vs Teach a man to fish, etc.

In addition most of the stocks on my list are high risk (which may be outside your comfort zone). Here's one that shouldn't be outside anyone's comfort zone.

BPSG: Fantastic boutique investment bank. They have the former head of global M&A for both Lehman Bros (80s) and Morgan Stanley, Eric Gleacher, in the CEO chair. He also happens to own 10% of the company, showing management and shareholder interests are aligned. Interesting thing about them is they posted a loss of -0.00 EPS in Q1. What it seems the market HASN'T taken into consideration is that the entire reason for that "loss" was a severance package for the former CEO. Without it they actually posted a pro-forma EPS of +0.11, a record quarter. They've consolidated their offices and streamlined operations. I expect a noteworthy Q2 from them.

My FAVORITE companies, however (ones that I deem low risk, yet still capable of pulling 50% or higher gains in 1 year's time) are:

WFC
PNC

GS (Yes, the same guys under fire from the SEC. I feel they are a fundamentally outstanding company whose stock is on fire-sale right now)
OTTR: What would a rounded portfolio be without at least one utilities company? In actuality, these guys are a conglomerated holding company with non-cyclical subsidiaries. With operations in all 50 states, a 6% dividend and a price per share that's held low for unknown reasons (To me, it looks like they've been posting fantastic quarters with reliable YoY revenue growth) I find it hard not to want this company. I think they'll produce fantastic returns, both through dividends and capital gains.

I should point out that I own all these companies (and yes, I do LOVE the financial sector), so my money is where my mouth is. I'm especially fond of BPSG and my post on the BPSG boards (despite the fact I may be the only one who goes there :P) underscores that.
