KAUST is amazing for its scope of research. What KAUST
offers is the best and biggest computer, SHAHEEN,
and a virtually unlimited pocket to buy the best and
newest equipment to conduct your research with, along
with some great minds and a vast network.
It will be one of the leading centers in this century.

Quantum Dots will be only one area of focus,
but it is significant that the rumoured Solterra plant
is within 50 miles away in Jeddah. Jeddah is a port.
Aramco visited Jabbour at KAUST and had a meeting.
KACST built it, and so is intimately involved there.
In fact, probably many if not all of the country's
top organizations participated in the building and
planning of KAUST so it is excellent exposure for a
foreign company that might be involved.

Having the ability to make a uniform and customizable
multipurpose TQD out of common inexpensive materials,
and mass-produce it too, would be a subject of much
KAUST research, IMHO.

Having the foremost researcher in Flexible Displays
at KAUST who is also Solterra's Chief Science Officer,
(our Spock!) would also mean that Flexible PV QTD solar
cells and panels will also get some serious attention.

While KAUST is first an academic institution, the fact
that they celebrate their ties to companies and sponsors
means that commercialization of science is a priority.

It's all good!
