My thinking on the matter is this: I know Ike's vision is to become automated, setting up a quick and easy credit card via computer or phone transaction to obtain a keyword. So, it could be he is further along.
If you put yourself into his postion and ask, why? It makes sense to me in that he is preparing for the automated system already and sees current Ambassadorships sufficient. He said in the past that the system will eventually automated, once it is more well known. The Ambassadors are charged with getting the initial word out.
I suspect that once this begins to roll with major signings, etc, he will update the website with instructions and capabilities to transact a keyword, thus taking more advantage of technology to limit overhead expenses.
There is a price to pay for progress. And I think one of the prices eventually is fewer foot soldiers and more automation.
