With the way the tubes are so close together some of what we are seeing could be dirt,dust or pollen settling in between the tubes.

I don't know. I'm looking now and just about half the tubes appear to have a hint of green.

We'll find out for sure one way or another, but after cleaning pools for a good portion of my young adult life, it sure looks like a familiar sight.
