OT: Sarge.....could well be, especially when you are dealing with numbers of that magnitude and the financial impacts to the stock market.

Sarge......one other thing I have noticed over the last several years.

Every time there is a big market breakdown such as what was experienced yesterday, it appears to me that market makers almost immediately also bring down the prices of the OTC and small cap stocks....when there is no weakness necessarily seen there.

My hunch, for a while, has been that there is an unwritten rule that they should do this (especially after the small cap boom in 99/00) so that money doesn't immediately flow from big to small caps. My guess is that the big money stocks amd the accompanying institutional investors...which control the markets in reality....sent the message that they don't want to have market cap drained in this fashion, as it could mean more and more continuous damage to them over a longer term.
