Not sure but he could be following Buffets logic. You know (invest in what you know.)

Considering that he has hunted at the place I can see why he likes it. Also if you look at the site he is taking a partial stake in that business is also something he knows about.

I don't know the guys past but he seems to follow a pattern in which some successful business people such as Buffet has done.
