It is pretty obvious that the penny stock alert magnified both the volume move up and the panic sell down. The effect of this 2 cents warning notion has also been discussed here earlier.
I just wonder, like you, which party was in possession of about 5m shares to be dumped into fundamentally strong news. I also wonder why the market, nonetheless, failed to recognize the the true substance of this PR and lacked a strong bounce today.
I doubt that this manipulation was initiated by the firm or in the interest of the firm. On the contrary, certain posters come to mind! But management must have been involved for the timing of the activity and promotion. That is the one aspect that worries me.
All planned out well: Large shareholder pays $25k for promotion and receives approx. 5m * $0.025 = $125k for a net profit of $100k...not a bad deal, but I bet he/she/they were up for much more!
If that scenario is anywhere near what really happens, I am just glad that 1) nothing has changed about the fundamental prospects and 2)the ask must be thinned out by now
WRT your note on trailing sales, I never heard of a place to track down individual parties and match them with certain sales. Sure would be an interesting feature. Which institution should provide these data?
