Well, I buy this to SOME degree:

the essential problem with the redistribution of wealth dogma is that the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

but, no "redistribution" leaves us more or less in the same place or worse. Btw, things like raising the minimum wage are NOT "redistribution" of wealth, imo....as if someone was giving someone something they didn't deserve, it's a loaded word and being improperly bandied about. Think in terms of fairness.
