A lot of people buried their gold coins in their backyard during the Depression when the private ownership of gold was outlawed and all gold had to be turned in. My friend who owns a gold shop recently bought a huge number of old US $10 gold coins from a man who found them buried in his backyard. I bought 40 (10 oz) from him.
