The Detroit story bothers me on a number of levels.

The first is the state of the city. I'm a little ill right now thinking about it.

Then there was this phrase "Southern immigrants". They weren't immigrants. They were migrants. All were Americans who came north to take advantage of the work in the factories. I remember we snobs in Ann Arbor used to refer to Ypsilanti as Ypsitucky in honor of them.

Funny there's no mention of the number of fuslims currently inhabiting the area. Hmmm. Third world religion and now third world conditions right here in the good old USofA.

Makes me sick. I loved the state of Michigan and its people when I was there. I did not want to leave but succumbed to family pressure to return to nj after school. In retrospect, I'm probably better off. Very sad what has happened out there.
