OT Oil Rig,

It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out on the financial side.

From what I understood, BP will be liable for all cleanup and containment costs but under an 1986 law they will only be liable for an maximum of $75 mil in legal payments for affecting the livihood of the thousands of fishermen, resorts, governments etc.

The government has an eight cent tax on every bbl of oil either drilled or imported into the states to compensate these victims.

The bad news is the fund has only a little over a billion dollars in it.
