Papaya gives papain - they used it to tenderize meat in butcher shops a while back - it didn't catch on. There is an enzyme in papain that breaks the protein in meat - making it tender. The coat on a virus is protein - so it could well break that - protein is protein. NNVC cides break the virus protein coat. The trick is to get the cide to the virus. NNVC cides are targeted to the virus coat. How does papain get to the virus? I have no idea - chance, maybe. Does it zap Dengue? They say it does. Is it a preposterous concept? Not IMO.
