Yes, they're less willing to short to give away more air shares - my 4k buy order at .44 was taken in its entirety within minutes at 9:40 this morning, and that was with a four cent spread. But with only a half cent spread it took three partials and 32 minutes to fill my 5k order at .475. The time to buy apparently is in the first ten minutes when the market makers are hoping for a scary looking chart to start the day.
