#7 RE: Qarel #5

Hoi Karel,

I can see that I am going to do a lot of writing in the future with the responses coming in fast. I checked out your Guru-link and my first impression was that I was looking at Hercules. As a youth I went to see all the Hercules movies, with Steeve Reeves, I think it was.

Interesting that this fellow is also an Engineer! Anyhow the contest I read about is of course interesting to participate in. Maybe I can propose my VORTEX Demo as a candidate, but the restriction that no costs are to be included is not realistic for a realistic contest. Anyhow the Guru-methods appear quite involved and his performance appears very good and difficult to beat. However it is not AIMing and a such a different animal.

As to you questions, I may have said something that is misinterpreted. I meant that I would pick 5 funds and then let VORTEX take its course. I do not mean a fixed number of shares for starting. I will pick a Cash/Equity Ratio(CER) that suits me fine and then, if need be, rebalance that on the fly. All the rules are not yet fixed. Suggestions are welcome. My proposal was to allocate 20000 to each and pick the CER for each stock maybe different. I will do that on the basis of an optimisation of a short history. Also I have not yet decided how to optimise. I can do that on simple profit or use also some criteria for share accumulation(good for stocks that are diving). As you may appreciate, with 5 or 6 parameters to optimise each stock will have its own features that I have to take into consideration.

As to QQQ, I have seen that on the AIM Boards quite often but I never looked into it. Fine with me, I note it as the first suggestion. I have seen this also on the X-DEV Board. What does that company make? Guided missiles for the VS-Iraq War or Baby Diapers?

What is an ETF(I am still from Missouri)? It makes no difference to me. I will run anything that is suggested the most and will not research the stock as I will have no time for that. I am at the mercy of the suggestions: If DUDS are suggested to me then the VORTEX performance will have to be judged in that light.

How does your Demo do!

Regards,

Conrad
