the 5000 got filled at bid, but not shown up on l2 ...i put in order 9:44

Why would they fill buy orders at the bid if you put it at the ask? I have never understood this. It's probably a counter-intuitive answer, but if they knew the price was going up, why would they give a buyer a discount on his purchase? That doesn't make a lot of sense... which is probably why they do it.
