Verisign...domain name registry. That means you get a domain name and let's say you get a domain name called "Goodies_are Good_Stuff". You have a website named "Goodies are Good Stuff" since "Goodies" has already been bought by some snot nosed kid. Google picks up your website witt the name "Goodies" but Google will also pick up about billion other pages with the name "goodies". In fact there are 8.2 million references to the word "goodies". If you have a web-enabled cell phone and you type in "goodies" in the search engine, it'll come up with 8.2 million references to the word "goodies". How can you benefit your company name "Goodies are Good Stuff" in the cell phone market? This is where NEOM/SAIC comes in with WordRegistry. This is where you can buy and reserve your brand or company name for its specificity. You reserve and buy the name "Goodies" in the WordRegistry database for one year, renewable every year. Now, when someone type in "Goodies" (very simple, only 7 letters long vs 19 letters in the original title). Your web-enabled cell phone will instantly connect to your company's website "Goodies are Good Stuff" to start buying from the cell phone your products.

The concept behind Neomedia/SAIC WordRegistry is the simplification of owning your own brand name that will DIRECTLY connect to their website instead of typing http://www.goodiesaregoodstuff.com . Nobody will do that. But certainly they can type in "Goodies" in Neomedia's "Go Window" for Windows text window and instantly connect to the website.

Verisign is not about that but NEOM/SAIC is. Clever!! And, oh, the huge potential, too!!

Now, quickly, think in about 3 to 5 years from now, SAY the word "Goodies" into your cell phone and it'll connect to your website!

ALLYNB,
whatever Verisign and Nokia end up actually doing, it uses NEOM IP...so one way or they other, imo, they will be paying NEOM for licensing. NEOM IP is the bridge.
And also, as koko just posted out, what NeoMedia and SAIC are developing (with typed word, then spoken word, etc) so much more advanced.
