That biomass conference was concerned with heating with biomass and had nothing to do with electrical generation. The head of that conference, the president of New England Woodpellets and Charlie Bass's nephew, is against the building of the Laidlaw plant.

Its my opinion there is a need for Laidlaws plant in Berlin as a benefit for the entire region. I don't believe its going to be any sort of a boom for Berlin and that promising the people of Berlin the moon is going to be a mistake in the long run. The plant will pay some taxes but it really isn't going to draw business into the area or save Fraser. Its probably going to retard the downward spiral of the town but it isn't going to stop it.
