While it is true that you can get filled at the bid on occasion there is absolutely no doubt about the fact that sitting on the bid to buy a stock slows it down dramatically, and in many cases makes it go backwards in order for the MM's to fill the order.
It is the old story of people literally tripping over dollars to save fractions of a penny. This is especially true on stocks that have low floats.
Sitting on the bid is counter productive any way you slice it up.
trust me I've done both. Many cases after they sometimes drop bid if fill at bid and many times a partial fill and some never got filled! Point is I actually am on wrong board and it's kind of mute now! lol
