#34781 RE: StockCroupier #34780

I think that has been posted there on the site for about a year and a half, maybe a bit longer. The news was received with much derision from the usual suspects... and now they are doing it.

The evolution in the Apple - AT&T relationship is "interesting" to say the least.

I have always called B.S. on this. (Not that it mattes for Patent Infringement cases) 1st they (Calypso) have never shown the actual existence of a piece of software in any form such as a screenshot etc...

For this to be possible the software would have to register back to some kind of a session controller and etc.... such as a GIPS engine or ICM.

And secondly for "ANY" Voice Application running on an un-jailbroke (meaning normal)IPhone the application will not run in the background. Only IPhone apps will natively run in the background. So the software is only active (able to receive and make calls) when it is currently running.

Also the battery life on an Iphone stinks. I have one a 3GS. Love the thing but hate the battery life. I charge at my desk, car, and nightstand. I have chargers everywhere. And I keep Bluetooth off for the most part because that makes a bad situation a nightmare.

Now the conjecture is that on 4.0 version of the OS for IPhone, background applications will be possible. I hope they come up with a backgrounder budget. Meaning they find ways to allow only a certain amount of applications to run in the background.

There are a lot of SIP stacks that work across IPhone now and actually and lot's more coming.
