Steph, you may think I'm crazy, but I feel nothing but compassion for those people.
The "crazy lady in pink" is angry, and wants to lash out at someone. But deep inside, she's a human being like the rest of us. She thinks she's losing her freedoms, and she's afraid. That fear is manifesting itself in terms of her violent attitude, and I'm sure she'll regret it later (as an aside, if you've ever watched the reality TV show Wife Swap, then you'll be familiar with the "God Warrior" who similarly lashed out uncontrollably on the air, and later felt terrible about it).
It's not enough to go into the hornet's nest with a camera, just to film a bunch of angry hornets. They had the wherewithal to march to Washington, so it's a clash of emotions, and these people have been lied to in the worst possible way.
I also felt a little bad for the guy who tried to have a rational conversation about the national debt. I would have liked to converse with him and find out how much he knew about the deficit reductions built into the bill, or if he even knew where much of the deficit came from over the last 8 years. He's obviously concerned about the country's future, and I am, too. Problem is, he doesn't know he's on the wrong side of the issue.
So maybe I'm a little crazy, too, but I feel compassion for these people, and feel bad that they've been lied to. I wish I could help, but some of them are in no mood to listen right now.
