People are sure encouraged to send letters to the judges, but Liz thought it best to only put the two letters out there and let people cc the judges. She thought it would reduce the load on everyone and make it easier. We sent letters and packets to all four, so everyone can write a personal appeal to them as well.
If people want a template letter to the judges, let me know. Else, a cc to them should be sufficient. - H
