I know of a guy who made little metal artsy thingies for your desk. Well Bed Bath and a few other big chains bought his creations and sent to China to be churned out by the thousands.
He had copyrighted all his designs.
He let them sell a boatload for a few years,then he picked one off in a lawsuit. With a big win in hand he started approaching all the others for settlement. The rest of them paid without a fight.
