Some olders posts below to help clarify. The key distinctions are in the paragraph below. Caldwell referenced the # of investors last September during conferece call. "We have approximately 25,000 investors, many of whom have become so within the past 18 months."

"The shareholder of record is the person named on the company's books as owning one or more shares of that company's stock.
