It looks like we only need Phase I safety trials for the Animal Rule route? Think we've already satisfied this prong with the 252 patients who have tolerated bavi well?

It's amazing to me that Thorpe made the below statement ~6 years ago and that we haven't attempted approval via the animal route already? Is there a consensus why we haven't? Lack of funds? So many lives, especially in third world countries, could have been saved during this period (assuming the drug shows the same efficacy in humans).

"rodents were infected with Lassa Fever virus, a very lethal virus.. if the animals were getting Bavituximab, half the animals rejected the virus and went on to live normally. That's an extraordinary result, I don't know of any other antiviral agent that is known to protect against Lassa Fever”.

Putting approval aside, you'd also think that a drug that is able to immunize 50% of those injected with Lassa Fever would generate more buzz and attention in the mainstream media and in the scientific community?

I feel as though we're still flying under the radar (as evidenced by our market cap)...
