Odyssey Oddities

1. No mention of VoiceNav in the 1000 (according to the J&R site) so the 800 likely includes it. The only differentiating factor is probably capacity.

2. Another 40 bucks buys you another 5 GB but of course that only gives you 300 more songs. HA!!

3. I wonder what "coming soon" as defined by J&R really means. The CC said availability in October. Might I be able to get one of these babies before then?

Hard Drives Rule! At $370+shipping, I'm paying slightly under 2 cents/MB which is on par with a 500 MB DataPlay disc for $10. Except of course with this device, I get all the extra features and it's fully rewritable and customizable. And by comparison, the Nomad, Archos, or any other hard drive player just don't have the same value for the money - mention them not!

My roommate bought an Archos Jukebox about a month ago. After a frustrating few weeks of deciphering the manual and trying to create a logical display of its musical contents, he finally managed to load a dozen or so albums onto it. When he tried to play one of them back, the Archos obliged by skipping merrily thru the first song he cued up, repeatedly playing maybe 2 seconds then jumping ahead. Disgusted to the max, he returned it the same day and bought an XP3. It has yet to disappoint him.
