RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (AP) -- Panera Bread Co.'s executive vice president and chief operating officer has resigned, the owner of Panera Bread and Saint Louis Bread Co. bakery-cafes said Thursday. A Panera statement offered no explanation for the departure of Paul Twohig, who had held the titles since January 2003.
Panera, based in this St. Louis suburb, said Twohig's duties will be divided among four senior vice presidents. Panera shares were off 34 cents at $39.74 in morning trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market. Its shares have risen in an erratic pattern from a 52-week low of $32.35 in August.
