You will never guess who will control your day. I got a really great idea. Let the MM execute the orders as they get them. That way if they need shares they can raise the bid and people will sell them shares. Then other people will buy a stock that is going up and that's what they want to do.

OK so if the MM makes money on both transactions and the first group of people who wish to sell make more money when the bid is raised and the next group get to buy all the shares they wish that are going up and it's not necessary to short anything then is that not win, win, win ??

OK so what really happens. MM need shares. Both buy and sell orders come in. All the sell orders hit the street first. The price goes down. People see the price go down and run screaming to the door with SELL __ SELL. More people sell because that's what people do BAH. People sell a stock that is going down.
MM have as many shares as they need then reverse all engines. Post buy orders and watch the green go up the ladder. Rinse and repeat.
