I don't disagree with all you're saying, right up to the point that all these delays have meant that a very important medicine has been off the market now for at minimum eight months, the equipment that is still sitting in customs is about to be sold and there have been numerous marketing opportunities blown, such as the U17 World Cup that was held in eight different stadiums around Nigeria last year.

I don't disagree with the need to get multiple proposals, but they handled it wrong. There were a couple of groups that were invited to put in a proposal (there were four groups invited), one of them wanted to see the equipment before putting in a proposal, so everything was put on hold waiting for the equipment to be released from customs, which never happened. What I continually said was that our proposal was an "as is" proposal. We knew that the equipment was most likely damaged since it had sat in shipping containers, outside, in the Nigeria heat. That meant that things like rubber hoses most likely were damaged from the heat and would need to be replaced. We also knew that two of the containers (now four) had already been sold. What I kept saying was, they put these conditions on and if they decide not to submit a proposal because they find out what we already knew, they would have wasted two months. I also told them that I had contacts with customs that could help with the containers and that I would prefer that we handle the negotiations since we'd have to pay the fees ultimately if we ended up with the company. None of what they said they'd do happened and here we sit, waiting...

There is a new "top dog" as you put it and fortunately he's a guy that I've been in contact with from the beginning more as a friend than anything since he wasn't involved in Xechem when I met him. He's now taken over the process and has been very active in getting things moving, to the point that he's sent me more questions in emails in the last two weeks then I've received from all the other players in the process combined in over a year (with the exception of the NIPRD guys).

Anyway, we'll see what happens, it's going to play out on their terms and I've pushed them as much as I can without having them ban me from the country...
