In one of the interviews with Eric he talked about TDGI/Hannover's target market and the reasoning behind it. Most of the other Distributors have gotten so big they focus on Movies that have enough draw to support releasing the Movie to 3000+ Movie theaters. Eric spoke about Hannover/TDGI focusing in on the slightly smaller films that could support a release to 1000+ theaters. The big boys were letting some of these gems slip by focusing on the 3000+ films.
Very. very important point imho....In order to succeed in Business a company can't lose focus in understanding who they are as a company and what are their niche and target markets. With that being said, remember a few years ago Summit was around the size of TDGI/Hannover now. Look what they have become. That's one of the real compelling draws here for me. Getting into TDGI who might become the next Summit but is still trading for around .025 per share.
He points to Summit Entertainment as an example of a company that went through an instant transformation.
The company had annual revenues of $8 million, he said, and then it acquired the rights to Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series.
When "Twilight" came out, their revenue grew to $400 million, Parkinson said. The second film in the series, "Twilight Saga: New Moon" was released in November and grossed almost $700 million worldwide. Summit will release the third film, "Eclipse," in June.
"We're in the same business," Parkinson said. "If we can acquire a franchise like that, we can transform our company from $10 million annual business to a $500 to $600 million annual business."
