#15543 RE: TheReader #15541

TheReader, I understand your points about the sales game...

...but when posters make very explicit and specific claims about something they obviously know nothing about, that's when it gets tedious and tiresome. That's when we should challenge the statement.

A good example that you might read on iHub would be something like:

"No one would ever buy that product.", or some permutation...

In effect, the poster is claiming that they personally polled every man, woman, and child on the planet Earth, and all 100% of the 6+ Billion people confirmed the premise. And no one lied about it in the poll. Yeah, right!

You see, it's just totally absurd on the face of it. Impossible to prove. Yet claims like this are made every day, even on THIS forum; especially on this forum where bashers are active. And any attempt to counter the absurdity is deemed a Personal Attack. And you know what happens next. So one person gets to buy cheaper and all longs lose equity value. Not a good tradeoff, IMO.

Now, I understand the "To Da Moon!" part. That is just simple cheer leading and not to be taken seriously. But when money is involved, the whole game can become very serious. If someone will only buy a stock AFTER they force losses on others, that's where it becomes war and no longer a game to be played.

But I do agree that "LOL stocks are fun". I play the Lottery, too. But at least with penny stocks I get to win once in a while.
