sandwich maker at a New York City delicatessen discovered the face of President Bush appearing in a slice of bologna. “I was stunned to see it. I immediately recognized the grin,” said the employee who asked not to be named.
The owner of the establishment, a life-long Republican, intends to build a shrine to Bush in a corner of the deli featuring the bologna. “I’ve already been begged to put it on eBay for auction, but I intend to keep this invaluable treasure,” he said. This, despite the fact that a ten year old grilled cheese sandwich recently sold on eBay for $28,000.
City tourism officials predict the Bush bologna will become a significant draw to the lower west side delicatessen. “It will become a must see stop along with the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, no doubt about it,” said a city official.
No word from the White House on whether the president plans to visit the slab of deli meat that bears his likeness.
