Actually, I've tried my best to keep myself gender neutral in my posts. Therefore, while it may seem obvious to you as to my sex, there is always that touch of doubt as to whether or not I really am a man, woman, or transgendered. With that said, I never refer to my "spousal unit" in any form as well. As to my "spousal unit"....I don't think it matters as my spousal thinks all posting on the internet is silly and therefore gives it no thought. I will convey your concerns though and report back.
