magicatlast, thank you. point taken. i'm good with that. I'm not an expert in FPCA but i understand what you are saying and i think we are on the same page. I also think i could have explained myself a bit better. my only point actually was that FCPA is a bit of a special case to the general rule. Under FCPA there are these funky rules governing extending the sol because of the foreign stuff and since no body knows wtf is going on in trying to nail down the evidence in prosecuting, congress provided some wiggle room for US to argue for extensions. sorry if i sounded like a lawyer, unfortunately ive been one now for the greater part of my life.
