<<Democracy does not work without organized non violent civil disobedience IMO.>. I want to stress from hard experience non-violent civil disobedience ABSOLUTELY demands, i say DEMANDS Disobedience.
Any who have a notion that a placid well be behaved peace march within the the pre-determined march lines of the authorities is in tradition of C.D. i must state WRONG! as it is NOT Civil Disobedience.
While Non-Violent as in without weapons, it does take physicalness, physical action, that can be greatly MISUNDERSTOOD as violence.
This is why i blew my gasket over people thinking having 500K people at republican convention on a pre-agreed date to march meekly along an authority described path was in accordance with the traditions of non-violent Civil Disobedience.
I will put this out right now, i dislike Tom Hayden, i have ALWAYS disliked Tom Hayden and state BLUNTLY the DEATH of the protest movement commenced when Tom Hayden, from the point this 2-bit politician took control of the protest movement and KILLED it!!!.
I promise you the total futility and waste of time of the peace march in NYC was BECAUSE Tom Hayden was still in the planners seat.
I give kudos and homage to the near 2,000 the got arrested for being "disobedient", and can safely bet they had no connection with tom Hayden.
I recommend that Tom Hayden be denounced and kicked out of all activist groups.
