Shares of some top gold companies are down at 10 a.m.:
Barrick Gold fell $.17 or .5 percent, to $35.90.
Gold Fields fell $.16 or 1.3 percent, to $12.09.
Goldcorp fell $.20 or .6 percent, to $36.14.
Newmont Mining fell $.08 or .2 percent, to $44.16.
