We all try to buy low and sell high, but that is really not the issue in question.
Take responsibility for my own investment decisions, again this is not the issue either - but I am not sure how you equate getting screwed over with not taking responsibility with one's decisions ???

I get the impression you have never been screwed over before, or you have and are just willing to chalk it up to a bad experience. If so, to each his own.
In my world, every situation has to be assessed individually, and currently I am in the process of making my own assessments.

Play fair, and I will walk away licking my wounds.
Screw me over, and I will take every measure to return the favour.
Sorry, not in my genetic make up to roll over.
But is it necessary to chastise anyone who is not interested in rolling over.
