UPDATE — Oops! FBI forensics “experts” trying to show how Osama Bin Laden might appear as an aging thug blended a leftist Spanish lawmaker’s likeness with the Al Qaeda kingpin’s mug in an image sent to us last week by Diplomatic Security’s Rewards For Justice program.

Naturally, Gaspar Llamazares was a little offended. The United States has apologized for the gaffe.
Last week, we reported that the U.S. has been trying to whack Bin Laden for 15 years, ever since the CIA created Alec Station in Virginia. But he dodged cruise missiles in Khowst, Afghanistan in 1998, escaped Tora Bora in 2001 and has been on the lam ever since “watching his six,” as Navy flyboys like to say.
So the folks who keep $25 million handy in the Rewards for Justice kitty for the tipster who hands America the Al Qaeda leader’s head in a box have come up with some “age progressed” images of most-wanted terrorists such as the Saudi kingpin of radical jihad. The sheikh, it is reasoned, might have shaved his beard over the years to blend in somewhere — maybe a Barnes & Noble for a reading of “Kill Bin Laden?”
Another age-progressed image features what Mullah Omar, leader of the Quetta Taliban, might look like eight years after the fall of his regime in Kabul.

This kind of exercises are not helping, really. I am originally from Spain and Spanish media has already commented how come this aged picture has the same hairdo and forehead of the Lead of the 3rd most important political party in Spain. You can check by yourselves...(in Spanish)
