It's nuts but a sad reality how the black liquor credit is nixed for now.
If an alternative fuel can be created from renewable resources, that should be the crux of an energy independence policy.
The cap and trade thing is a great idea, and should be pursued with all dispatch.
Selling off the hydro projects is just plain dum. We got the dams, they are built, and energy can be sold as an ongoing revenue source.
That power source may be the only game in town, so if it's not cost effective, rates should be restructured to where they not only are cost effective, but profitable as well.
If the cost to produce that power can't be passed on to other users for some regulatory reasons, then I say "screw them."
Let 'em go get their power somewhere else.
